Just like in everything, balance is the key to healthy relationships. This balance is achieved through the resulting equality of real friendship.
Many people have troubles with developing long term healthy relationships. These examples can be applied to any kind of relationship.
The first sign of this is when the communications become stagnant and become unresponsive.
Examples of relationship killers.
Expecting the other person to be another you.
Not viewing your partner as human but rather what they can do for your ego.
Treating someone different in public then you do in private.
Having any kind of hierarchy withing your social system. One thinks they are above another.
Refusal to share feelings or risk vulnerability. Brings mistrust.
The issues can be labeled many different ways. They all result in one thing, unbalanced.
What can you do to avoid the unbalance.
Being willing to listen and actually hear with empathy your partners person hood is the first key to success.
Never use this trust in vulnerability to your own gainful power.
Remember where you came from , why you came to be together in the first place.
Make the time to just be. Sit together on a park bench for an hour and be content.
Be polite, actually say thank you for the small things that we all do for each other. Recognition of effort.
When speaking of your partner in public , talk about what they do right.
Having the desire to work towards that equality and balance is required.
Having the desire to put forth your own vulnerability , risking with courage.
When you feel your not balanced. Actually speak up and say so.
If you feel your unjustly being persecuted, protecting them is bad karma and will come back to bite you.
All oppressed people will walk right through or right over the oppressor. It is against your nature to avoid this.
Give others the same space you require to exist is balance.
