Children choose us to be there parents. They entrust us with the largest test of moral fiber life can bestow upon us. The difference is of course that the results will last not only our life time, it will also last through theirs and through their children. The results of this test last forever. How we shape our child's value's and morals will effect everyone on this planet and every facet of the planet.
Make no mistake. The cognition's our children retain conscious or not will go on to effect and affect every part of their life. How they view other people, animals and all other parts of their life.
They will reflect to the outside world every feeling that is shown to them, directed at them, and shared with them. It is humanly impossible to avoid this karmic balance. I am very fortunate to have had parents who did have moral fiber. They were not the model parents. Had many personal problems both physical and mental. Looking at the bigger picture of who and what they were has given me insight, hope, courage to go forth and add to the many times they showed me how to be a large person, to think beyond myself and make the right decision. My parents were at times a very true friend. I know now they did the best they could given their upbringing and the general awareness knowledge available within their time here on earth.
It is a hard perception for any child to realize and grasp the entirety of their parents actually having been a child themselves. We expect them to know all, be all , we expect them to be gods.
It is of course a fallacy no parent can live up to. Yet we all try to portray that we are invincible. A very damaging whiplash comes when our children can see our entire person hood and the many flaws we all have.
My children are my best friends. They openly accept my human flaws and give comfort, support, and commitment in standing by me. This I feel and is not my opinion.
Gifts they are to entrust us with their very life. To nurture, guide, protect, educate, lead and when they become adults, follow them giving the same trust back to them. Karma and the circle of life.
Warning
To those parents who fail to realize children do not come with a bill of sale. One day they will walk right through you and break away. Some never to return.
